Preparing to prepare for travel preparation

Drove to Melbourne Thursday primarily to knock over Thailand visa, buy odds and ends for trip and vainly attempt to sell my car to a public under-appreaciative to the true value my never-been-flogged car offers. Anyway, upon arrival at a very dark and quite Thai consulate I deduced that it was not open. This turned out to be a regular occasion as the good Thai people decide that being open from 10AM-2PM four days a week is simply more than any sane person would handle.

It was then off to the dentist where I was forced to experience 2 hours in a chair and 2 seperate needles to fix EXISTING WORK! Thus I was effectivly charged twice! And it hurt!

Anyway, rather than driving the 300 odd KM round trip to get to the Consulate on a day they daned to open, I gave a quick call to my diminutive friend crim who kindly offered (at very short notice I might add) to put me up for the night. Shout out to Tim & Michelle in general. Anyway, rest of events in point form:

- This morning submitted visa application sans fresh underwear
- Talked to tight westy about my car which he was too tight to pay an extra $700 for
- Drove to Ballarat
- Got international drivers license
- Got jabbed by the doctor
- Car roadworthy
- Other interesting jobs

Went to tea tonight with my brother and sister inlaw and her brothers at the Snake valley pub. This is in the middle on nowhere but actually served ok food and wasn't full of bogans. It was footy presentation night however so they may have been elsewhere.

Anyway, Jennifer love Hewitt is on telly in a low-cut top so I've gotta run.

Todays Pictures

Hawk that was checking me out have lunch on a little trail outside Ballarat.

Picture of lake/damn/reservoir/pond where I had said lunch.

Who said being homeless and unemployed is a bad thing?

Apart from the mountain of travel preparation I've yet to complete and the utter disregard shown to customer service by AirFrance, today was alright. A ride from my brothers place with a packed lunch and absolutely no idea where I was going is not a bad way to spend 1/2 a day.

Decent res picture of a hawk that wanted my lunch uploaded from a source other than Blogger which wants to resize all posted images hopefully to follow.

Note: I'm sure when I get sick of this whole blog thing posts will be less frequent but more interesting.

Hello Internet

After much procrastination I have finally got around to creating a blog. My primary intent in doing so was to create an online account of my upcoming sojourn through Asia, possibly Europe and eventually the UK. In all probability however it will quickly degenerate into something far less constructive than this.

A quick note on the URL and title of said blog for the uninitiated: Firstly the URL is close enough to the literal translation of my surname. As for the blog name itself, I was tossing up a few possible names including 'The Blog of Eternal Stench', 'Blog Roll' and my favourite 'SpotBog'. As you can see I'm really trying very hard to make a bad word pun work. On some level I'd like to think I've succeeded.

In other more news worthy news; tickets are booked! My last day in this fair country for the foreseeable future will come to pass on Friday 6/10. This auspicious occasion will see me jetting off (on points primarily earned from work I might add) to the fair and not at all politically unstable destination of Bangkok. I shall then take a few days to see the sights of a big, smelly city after which I will train it down to Koh Samui for a month of having the snot beaten out of me.

Before this can occur I have a SHITLOAD of little gay tasks that whilst not very exciting must be completed prior to bugger-off day; selling my car not least amongst them.

Finally, in consumer related news I have recently purchased a new digital camera as can be seen below:

This camera meets the requirements of being both new AND shinny and hence I feel I have fulfilled my capitalist responsibilities for the month in addition to having that warm fuzzy feeling of owning new stuff. Big shout out to Tangles for facilitating said purchase.

Later internet.
